An expert in web product management and creation, with a special interest in geology and other sciences. I specialize in disseminating information for government entities to all audiences, including the general public, researchers, industry professionals, legislative bodies, and other local, state, and federal agencies. Strengths include streamlining project planning and processes and applying a variety of web solutions to communicate information to stakeholders such as websites, web applications, interactive maps, and more.

Highlighted Projects

Utah Geological Survey Website

I update and manage the UGS website. When I started at UGS in 2018, redesigning and rebuilding the entire website was my first task. This entailed updating the 200+ webpages on the highly-informative UGS website, spanning any and all topics related to Utah geology.

Earthquakes.utah.gov

After the magnitude-5.7 earthquake in Magna, Utah in 2020, the Utah Department of Natural Resources and Department of Emergency Management asked my team to create an official earthquakes website for Utah. To serve as a one-stop shop for Utah earthquake information, the website contains information on preparedness, geology, recent earthquakes, and more. The UGS team wrote web content and designed and built the website in two weeks.

Utah Rockhounder Web Application

For the UGS, I helped create an online rockhounder app for the general public. I managed tasks and timelines, as well as helped build the web application using Esri's Experience Builder. This project entailed digitizing rockhounding sites from a 1995 UGS publication and coordinating field-checking efforts by myself and UGS staff. It's now one of UGS' top applications and updated yearly with new sites.

Utah's Energy Resources Web Application

With the assistance of the Office of Energy Development, my team and I created a Utah Energy Resources hub for the general public, researchers, industry professionals, and the Utah legislature. We maintain trend data and charts and add new topics periodically. My team won the 2024 Utah Digital Government Summit's Best Use of GIS Award.
